Mentors are the lifeblood of our program teaching us essential STEAM skills and fostering team spirit.

Mr. Chuck Woods has been our fearless leader since 2009. As our teacher and Lead Mentor, Mr. Woods has worked hard to increase the number of female team members and technical leaders on our team including starting the Girls in STEM club at our school. Mr. Woods has volunteered as a FLL Judge, organized the machine shop at FRC Regionals, and worked to establish and continue our amazing Robots@CNE offseason event. He continues to offer his personal assistance to other teams at events and we have learned to give our best, and to offer our assistance to others the guidance of Mr. Woods. He encourages us to push ourselves to take chances and learn from our mistakes. Mr. Woods has created and nourished a FIRST family for us that is built on the foundations of teamwork, growth, joy, and gracious professionalism.

Linda Wainewright

Linda Wainewright is an energy consultant who started out as a parent supporter and sponsor in 2006, becoming a non-technical mentor in 2010. She created the FIRST Community celebration and awards which celebrate the volunteer Heroes and Flagship Sponsors who provide the support that makes FIRST a success in Oakville and beyond. Linda has been a Judge, Head Judge and Judge Advisor at numerous FLL Challenge Regional and Provincial competitions in Ontario since 2008 and was the Head Core Values Judge at the FLL Challenge Canadian Open in 2014. She was also awarded the FLL Challenge Provincial West Volunteer of the Year twice. In addition to FLL Challenge, Linda was the tournament director and volunteer coordinator at the only Ontario FTC scrimmage in 2019.
